Why do I need high fluoride toothpaste when I already use fluoride toothpaste?
Your dental professional has decided that you would benefit from using toothpaste containing a higher level of fluoride than ordinary toothpaste. Clinical studies indicate that certain people who are at high risk of tooth decay can derive additional benefits form the daily use of Colgate Duraphat 2800ppm fluoride toothpaste.

What is Colgate Duraphat 2800ppm toothpaste recommended for?
The treatment and prevention of dental decay in patients 16 years of age and over.

How does Colgate Duraphat toothpaste work?
It can both help to reverse decay in the early stages and strengthen teeth to prevent decay.

Fluoride works in several ways by:

  • Forming a store of fluoride on the teeth from which fluoride is released during attack
  • Reducing the acids formed by bacteria which caused the destruction of the tooth surface
  • Preventing the loss of minerals from the tooth
  • Reversing early decay

Why is Colgate Duraphat 2800ppm toothpaste only available on a private prescription?
Colgate Duraphat 2800ppm contains almost twice the level of fluoride as regular toothpaste. It is classified as Prescription Only Medicine by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency and is only available on prescription through a dentist.

Where can I obtain Colgate Duraphat 2800ppm toothpaste?
Colgate Duraphat 2800ppm can only be prescribed by a dentist. You can purchase it either through your dentist or through a pharmacy with a private prescription. It is not available through grocery stores.

You use it instead of your regular toothpaste, brushing twice daily.

It has a pleasant mint flavour, much like regular toothpaste.
